Living in view of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Michael Jost began collecting early California paintings in the mid 1980’s. Nearby are natural scenes resembling Edgar Payne’s mountains and lakes, Maynard Dixon’s Central Valley, and Thomas Hill’s Yosemite Valley. Inspired by other California collections and museums, Michael’s hobby turned into a passion. Desiring to do more than operate a large farming company, Michael decided to open an eponymous online gallery, Jost Fine Art. Continually investing in Fine Art has broadened the collection to include European, North American, Southern, and Western paintings, as well as modern and contemporary art as of late.  With the opening of a new brick-and-mortar location in Downtown Kingsburg, Jost Fine Art aims to bolster California’s dynamic art scene with museum quality exhibitions.
